About

The CoolSET™ Switch fixed frequency (FF) family comprises current-mode controllers suitable for flyback and high-voltage buck converter SMPS. They offer high integration alongside the industry’s most trusted superjunction MOSFET technology - CoolMOS™. It can be integrated with 700 V, 800 V, and 950 V avalanche rugged CoolMOS™ P7 power MOSFET. Multiple configurations of the CoolSET™ Switch FF flyback ICs are available to meet the broad requirements of diverse target applications such as home appliances, mainly washing machines, refridgerators, A/C units, as well as home and building automation, server and data center applications and industrial SMPS with power outputs ranging from 14.5 W to 40 W.

The CoolSET™ Switch fixed frequency (FF) flyback ICs offers a wide range of integrated features, including advanced protection with auto-restart to minimize system disruption, configurable active burst mode to improve standby and light load performance, and frequency reduction operation to further increase light and medium load efficiency at a lower switching frequency. Additionally, the can reduce BOM and system complexity through an integrated error amplifier, allowing for direct feedback from the primary output with minimal dependency upon external components. Further value is added with the support of both buck, continuous-current-mode (CCM) / discontinuous-conduction-mode (DCM) flyback topologies with slope compensation from a single component. The FF flyback ICs are also equipped with a brown-in protection for fast and robust start-up operation with a cascode configuration.
