EZ-PD™ Barrel Connector Replacement-Lite (BCR-Lite)

EZ-PD™ Barrel Connector Replacement Lite (BCR-Lite) is the simplest Barrel Connector Replacement of Infineon’s portfolio of highly-integrated pre-programmed USB-C port controller family. It targets electronic devices using various barrel connectors for power such as speakers, headphones, cameras, game consoles, power tools, electric shavers, and rechargeable toys, that can be then standardized using USB-C.

EZ-PD™ BCR-Lite integrates an Arm^® Cortex^® -M0 MCU at 48 MHz, supports USB-C charging (5 V at 0.5 A, 0.9 A, 1.5 A, 3 A) and legacy charging supports (BC1.2 and others), is USB data compatible and can be tuned to customer needs with the EZ-PD™ BCR HPI utility without firmware development required. Its device includes Vbus to CC short protection, OVP/UVP and ESD protection on CC.

EZ-PD™ BCR family is the ideal solution for electronic devices opting for a USB-C power input in lieu of a proprietary connector. It is compliant with the latest USB Type-C and it allows designers to quickly convert their devices’ power input from a barrel connector to a USB-C connector without invasive changes to their existing design.
