Infotainment Head Unit designs
Automotive infotainment systems like head unit require highly responsive human-machine interfaces (HMI) with multi-faced touch experiences, rich graphics, together with reliability that meets automotive quality standards. Seamless integration of different technologies is state of the art - such as speech recognition, combined with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to keep everyone wirelessly connected while a single USB-C cable allows for charging and data transfer. Also, 3D navigation systems are becoming pervasive in cars. Secure remote inter-connectivity of the various infotainment subsystems is key to enable customization. Infineon‘s IC portfolio combined with HMI and memory solutions leaps your design to the next generation where drivers experience intuitive and comprehensive infotainment solutions while staying securely connected in the car.

Automotive networking technology is evolving fast, moving into applications that were not typically safety-relevant, the bar is moving upwards, and we are seeing increasingly granular system safety concepts. At the same time, complexity is on the incline. Growing consumer expectations are pushing for new and innovative comfort and safety features also in low-end segments, and this, in turn, is putting pressure on designers to reduce complexity through hardware/software compatibility.

F-RAM for Automotive markets provides fast writes at full interface speed. F-RAM does not have any write delays and data is instantly non-volatile. Traditional non-volatile memories have delays of 5 or more milliseconds before data becomes non-volatile. If power is disrupted, pending data is lost unless the system has extra capacitance or batteries to keep the system on until data is stored.
F-RAM offers virtually unlimited endurance of 100 trillion read/write cycles. Traditional non-volatile memories typically have less than 1 million cycle endurance, forcing system designers to use complex wear-leveling routines and up to 4x more density to prolong the lifetime of these memories.

XENSIV™ MEMS microphones represent a new benchmark in performance, and current audio chain limitations can be overcome. A product needs reliable sensitive microphones that suit the system. For a voice system to work well, good raw data from the microphone must be fed to the voice processing algorithms running on the main system.
Infineon helps you to integrate fast and easy into your design so that you will get your product to market quickly. Testing schemes can be fulfilled without any delays.
