Government ID

Infineon offers a comprehensive product portfolio addressing all governmental ID project needs.

The dual-interface and contactless security crypto controllers are optimized for use in all government ID applications, from ePassports or electronic national IDs to demanding multi-application purpose documents.

All controllers integrate a contactless interface supporting ISO/IEC 14443 Type A and Type B. For advanced use cases, very high bit rates up to 6.8 MBit/s are integrated. The dual-Interface controller additionally integrates a UART (Universal support for an ISO/IEC 7816 based serial, contact-based smartcard interface). 

To match the variety of project needs, the portfolio equally comprises several sophisticated controller architectures, from a 16-bit architecture based on the MCS® 251 instruction set up to high-performance 32-bit CPUs based on Arm® cores, all enhanced by Infineon Technologies’ cache and security technology. Powerful crypto coprocessors enable high-performance cryptography.

Authentication and access

Infineon offers a variety of solutions for securing all types of digital assets and physical locations. Our products support USB and USB/NFC token, smart card, and key fob form factors, enabling many different application scenarios spanning secure data storage and encryption, digital signatures, physical access, logical access, biometric authentication, software monetization and protection, cold wallets, and many others.
