International Graduate Program

For a perfect start at Infineon

What is the International Graduate Program all about?

The International Graduate Program (IGP) at Infineon gives you full insight into how we come up with innovations. Over the course of 18 months, you have at least three different assignments – one of them abroad. By working in different departments, you can get an idea of what suits you best. The program can be started in different locations. How about Munich, Singapore or Los Angeles? From the beginning, you’ll have a chance to roll up your sleeves and take on challenging tasks. The focus is on developing your skills, which is why a defined roadmap is drawn up at the beginning.

We are looking for talent in a number of areas. For example, you can join us as an electrical engineer in product marketing, as a psychologist in human resources, or as a computer scientist in our corporate supply chain. The IGP is flexible too: it’s not about special career paths, but about filling key positions. From day one, you will be employed at Infineon on a permanent basis.

The application process was well structured and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

How did you first hear about the IGP at Infineon?

I found out about the IGP at the Infineon homepage and decided to apply right away. A couple weeks later I was invited to take part in an hour-long telephone interview. It went really well, I thought. Not too long after that I got another invitation – this time to attend a recruiting day in Villach, Austria. It was so exciting. There were five candidates, including myself. After a presentation about the program and introductions, we went to work on solving a case study. We had lots of interviews with different managers who shared details about their daily tasks. Two weeks later I got an official offer for a placement within the IGP. The application process was well structured and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

What made you ultimately want to join the program?

Aside from the great opportunity to learn on the job, the program gives me access to the big global IGP network. That is a huge benefit for me, because I have the possibility to get first-hand information about several divisions and to learn from different teams. My home department is in Villach, Austria, and my assignments will be in Munich and Los Angeles. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead!

We have formed an IGP community – both online and offline – to share updates with each other, not only about work, but also about life and what’s going on in different parts of the world.

How has the IGP network been part of your experience as an IGP alumnus?

The IGP network is still quite strong. We have formed an IGP community – both online and offline – to share updates with each other, not only about work, but also about life and what’s going on in different parts of the world. A lot of us take time to catch up with one another while on business trips, and some of us talk on the phone regularly. The IGP is a great starting point for cross-functional collaboration, which is beneficial for keeping the bigger picture in mind.

What’s happened since you finished the IGP?

In March 2018 I completed the IGP in Corporate Supply Chain Management. I am now responsible for introducing new products in Division Supply and Production Management. The major challenge of this position is to team up efficiently and communicate accurately with multiple stakeholders to deliver the right product to the right market from the right factory for maximized profit. With the end-to-end understanding of Infineon supply chain and cross-functional knowledge gained from the IGP assignments, I am able to achieve amazing results and often even exceed the project team’s expectations.
