Infineon's KIT-FPG1-T2G-B-E-2M fingerprint evaluation kit is designed to seamlessly work with Infineon's fingerprint match module, providing the necessary software, hardware, and tools for customers to evaluate Infineon's "fingerprint sensor IC and TRAVEO™ T2G matching MCU" with ease. The evaluation board interfaces with a PC through the built-in USB-to-UART Bridge chip, and the embedded framework FW and host interface command protocol are built into the Fingerprint match module (FPMM)module. Additionally, a software GUI (FPMM SW) is provided to interact with the FPMM module. With these components, users can develop embedded fingerprint reader-based solutions and thoroughly evaluate Infineon's embedded technology.

Features

  • The EVB allows host processor to access the FPMM board
  • UART-to-USB Bridge is built into the evaluation board
  • Direct UART connection is available on the expansion connector of the evaluation board
  • Direct SPI connection is available on the expansion connector of the evaluation board
  • Direct CAN connection is available on the expansion connector of the evaluation board
  • Standalone GPIO mode, FPMM can be controlled using only GPIOs

Benefits

  • Encryption, to ensure secure communication, “AES-256 encryption and SHA message authentication between sensor and FPMM, and between FPMM and host”
  • Responsive to user inputs, Fingerprint response enables user identification after a physical finger touch
  • Infineon Fingerprint is capable of dealing with a variety of fingers and variations to fingers due to external conditions
  • Infineon Fingerprint strikes a balance between security and convenience for a great end-user experience. Using compatible matching algorithms, fingerprint matching is performed using the feature set extracted from the fingerprint image created during the enrollment process
