PWM-FF (fixed frequency) flyback ICs

High efficiency and low standby power consumption

anchor

Overview

Infineon's FF PWM controller combines a high-voltage super junction MOSFET with the internal current regulator to operate the start-up sequence safely and rapidly which allows an easy implementation of brown-in protection. The fifth-generation flyback converter can detect abnormal line-input conditions and has improved in-system production as well as enhanced overtemperature protection (OTP) to improve operational fault handling.

Key Features

  • 100 kHz & 125 kHz switching frequency
  • Brown-in protection
  • Supports CCM and DCM operations
  • Overtemperature protection
  • Peak current limitation
  • Integrated feedback error amplifier
  • Over and undervoltage protection
  • Entry-exit active burst mode profile

About

The state-of-the-art fixed frequency current mode flyback power control IC with startup cell for power ranges up to 300 W with superior safety and reliability operation. The active burst mode operation achieves extremely low standby power consumption, frequency jittering obtains low EMI, adjustable blanking window to facilitate load jumps and high voltage startup cells that allows you to quickly power up your controller from the rectified line.

Infineon's latest 5th generation fixed frequency flyback PWM controller offers high performance and protection features like OLP, VCC under and OVP to increase system robustness. Integrated line input over voltage protection and error amplifier reduces the BOM count and cost. It offers increased mid and light load efficiency with digital frequency reduction and supports high power delivery with slope compensation for CCM operation. Suited for offline aux SMPS for server, PC power, aircon, refrigerator, audio and main SMPS for the adapter, set-top-box, water purifier, TV, industrial SMPS, and POE.
