About

Ideal applications for these low voltage motor controllers include cordless power tools, gardening products, and automated guided vehiclesMOTIX™ 6EDL7151 is the latest 3-phase gate driver IC featuring VDS sensor system. IMD700A/IMD701A are the latest fully programmable motor controllers integrating the XMC1404 microcontroller with the 6EDL7141 3-phase gate driver IC in one package.  MOTIX™ 6EDL7151 and MOTIX™ 6EDL7141 are available as a stand-alone device that has over 50 programmable parameters using a built-in digital SPI interface.  Both are fully configurable to drive a wide range of MOSFETs to yield the best possible system performance.

The demand for highly efficient and peak-performing electric motors continues to increase year after year. Infineon’s battery-supplied BLDC motor controller ICs are the ideal solution for consumer and professional power tools, as well as service robots such as electric vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers.

Designed for maximum flexibility and high performance, Infineon’s MOTIX™ low-voltage motor controller IMD700A, IMD701A, and three-phase gate driver 6EDL7141 have an operating supply voltage between 5.5 V to 60 V. This makes it the ideal solution for BLDC motor power tools that require fast and efficient charging solutions. Additionally, cordless power tools with higher battery supply voltages such as cordless drills with 24 V BLDC motors can be used for both space- and cost-optimized designs. Light electric vehicles such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and low-speed electric cars that use Infineon’s BLDC motor controllers with 24 V, 36 V, or 48 V battery capabilities exhibit increased battery life, longer operating range, and reduced charging times.

MOTIX™ 160 V SOI driver portfolio provides an easy-to-use, compact, and cost-effective gate driver solution for battery-powered industrial BLDC motor control drives such as cordless power tools, robots, drones, and LEVs up to 120 V.

MOTIX™ 6ED2742S01Q is a 160 V SOI-based gate driver designed for three-phase BLDC motor drive applications.

Integrated bootstrap diodes are used to supply the three external high-side charging bootstrap capacitors and support 100 percent duty cycle operation by a trickle charge pump. Protection features include undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection with configurable threshold, fault communication, and automatic fault clear.

The output drivers feature a high-pulse current buffer stage designed for minimum driver cross-conduction.

A current sense operational amplifier (CSA) with selectable gain is integrated between the VSS and COM.

  •  Simple, easy-to-use, and cost-effective solutions till 120 V for all battery-   powered applications
  •  High power density enables smaller footprints for space savings
  •  High reliability and durability
  •  Excellent thermal management
  •  Scalable solution for cordless power tools, outdoor power equipment, gardening tools, drones, LEVs, and robotics
