About

Energy-efficient and reliable power supplies are the cornerstone of smart and automated factories. Infineon can help you to design and build DIN rail power supplies that meet even the most stringent and demanding requirements.

DIN rails allow for many different forms of industrial SMPS, as well as other components, to be implemented in industrial automation control cabinets. Control components such as PLCs, I/O modules, and network or HMI subsystems used in factory automation are usually supplied with a 24 V DC power line. In order to enable this, the power supplies mounted on a DIN rail in the control cabinet, such as 120 V, 240 V, and 400 V AC-powered SMPS, must have low power dissipation, small size, and industry-standard reliability to deliver up to about 1 kW of power. Infineon's rugged and reliable IC components for SMPS ensure high density to fit more power in a smaller space, as well as high efficiency at high switching frequencies. In addition, digitally controlled stages and zero-voltage switching (ZVS) approaches can minimize the switching losses and load of DIN rail SMPS systems, resulting in excellent performance.

Infineon offers a wide range of power MOSFETs, gate drivers, ICs, and sensors to cover every socket and provide a high-quality total system solution for your industrial SMPS design.

In addition to our expansive product portfolio, Infineon also offers several other tools to assist you in your design journey. Speaking of products, for example, you can receive specific product recommendations by inserting your design requirements in the block diagram on this page. Doing so will filter our large selection down to the exact product and part number that you need for each socket. Another example is our library of simulation tools, reference designs, and evaluation boards, which empowers you to get to market even faster.

Check out the block diagram on this page for specific product recommendations for DIN rail power supply systems.

Modern industries typically require many coordinated single steps to accomplish a finished product or any activity flow. Imagine that with no automation in place: any high-volume outputs, or uninterrupted courses of action at a high level of quality and within a short time would not be possible.

To accommodate all of these features, factory controls require much more power than in the past. This power also needs to be both efficient and extremely reliable, as factory downtime is to be avoided at all costs. Infineon's semiconductor solutions can help factories become smarter.
