Bipolar power semiconductors are applied in the most varied fields of application in a power range of just a few kilowatts up to several gigawatts. We offer our customers a broad range of power modules containing thyristors and diodes in the voltage range of 1200 V to 4400 V and a current of 61 A up to 1070 A. The modules are designed and assembled with highly reliable pressure contact or solderbond technology which addresses the specific requirements of cost and performance-optimized applications. Our modules are offered in several single- and dual-device topologies for almost all phase control or rectifier applications. Application areas for our modules are, for example, electrical drives, as well as low-voltage soft starters and general purpose power supplies.

The Eco Block family addresses the demand for cost-efficient larger modules for rectifiers in drives and uninterruptable power-supplies (UPS), soft starters and bypass switches for UPS. Additionally, the modules are a perfect fit for large power supplies as well as windmills Due to its higher junction temperature, they are aiming at applications with air-cooled designs. Our Eco Block modules feature all essential functions and make use of the pressure contact technology while stripping down costly extras. They provide best-in-class thyristor and diode blocking stability leading to high reliability and an outstanding lifetime. The pressure contact technology guarantees a short-on-fail feature, which in return prevents arcing In order to get the optimum performance and keep the production fast & clean they will be also available with Thermal Interface Material (TIM).

The Prime Block modules are designed for highest performance when the desired current exceeds 600 A for a 60 mm footprint or 330 A for a 50 mm footprint. This avoids the paralleling of modules when this is not an option. Prime Block modules are a perfect fit for industrial AC and DC drives as well as for rectifiers and bypasses in UPS. The modules have been optimized for better thermal resistance and higher operational temperatures to push their performance beyond the existing limits. As a result, the Prime Block achieves the highest power density in its respective foot print while maintaining the well-known reliability, which leads to an outstanding lifetime. Our pressure contact modules in general provide best-in-class blocking stability and the solder bond modules undergo 100% X-ray end-of-line monitoring of solder process.
