The EiceDRIVER™ enhanced isolated gate drivers are ideal for applications using traditional switches, such as IGBTs or MOSFETs, but also for leading-edge technologies such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFET or IGBT7. The Miller clamp option and the accurate short-circuit protection feature (DESAT) enable superior application safety by avoiding parasitic turn-on and short-circuit occurrence, especially when driving e.g., CoolSiC™ MOSFETs.

About

The EiceDRIVER™ Compact and Enhanced families are some of the most notable isolated driver families. EiceDRIVER™ Compact are easy-to-design simple isolated gate drivers with 2-level slew-rate-control and Miller clamp functions in small package like DSO-8. EiceDRIVER™ Enhanced offers advanced features, such as short circuit protection (DESAT) and soft-off, Miller clamp, and I2C-configurability of multiple parameters for rapid prototyping and conditional monitoring, enabling predictive maintenance.

The F3 Enhanced (1ED332x) is the most cost effective family to incorporate DESAT, soft-off and Miller Clamp in standard DSO-16 package. It is a 8.5 A single-channel isolated gate driver.

The X3 Analog (1ED34xx) offers resistor-configurability for DESAT (adjustable filter time), and soft-off (adjustable current) through external resistors. For parallel switch, clamp driver option is available. The fine pitch DSO-16 enables 30% space saving, ideal for small Easy module packages.

The X3 Digital (1ED38xx) offers I2C-configurability for DESAT, Soft-Off, UVLO, Miller clamp, ADC, and Fault to simplify the design of highly reliable systems. All adjustments are done from the input side via the I2C interface, enable rapid prototyping, conditional monitoring, and predictive maintenance.

Infineon now features the EiceDRIVER™ Power 2EP1xxR family, a full-bridge transformer driver IC housed in a compact TSSOP8 pin package that provides a simple power-supply alternative to generate an asymmetric output voltage to supply isolated gate drivers. The IC features a unique duty-cycle adjustment capability, integrated temperature, short-circuit, and UVLO protections, and frequency adjustment options, all of which contribute to highly efficient, customizable, and flexible design possibilities aimed at reducing system costs and enhancing reliability. Designed to optimally supply gate drivers for various switches, it supports TRENCHSTOP™ IGBTs, OptiMOS™ MOSFETs, CoolMOS™ superjunction MOSFETs, CoolGaN™ high electron mobility transistors, and CoolSiC™ MOSFETs, working seamlessly with EiceDRIVER™ Enhanced isolated gate driver IC and other similar products.
