Get to the Core of the PSoC™ 6 microcontroller with ModusToolboxTM 3.0 – design challenge by Infineon and element14

Infineon and element14 are excited to announce the “At the Core” design challenge. We challenge innovative thinkers to push the limit of the newly unleased Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core on the PSoCTM 62 dual-core microcontroller with Infineon’s ModusToolboxTM software development platform.

Use ModusToolboxTM 3.0 to create projects focused on the dual core architecture of the PSoCTM 62 microcontroller. Whether your application needs to leverage dual core for low power modes, to securely partition the cores, or to drive multiple operating systems on a single microcontroller, the PSoCTM 62 with ModusToolboxTM 3.0 can ease your development efforts.

Interested in participating? Here are examples of qualifying projects:

  • Run low power applications on the Cortex-M0+, then wake the Cortex-M4 for more complex tasks requiring additional processing power
  • Using the separate cores for code isolation & security
  • Run trusted firmware on dedicated core
  • Run communication on the Cortex-M0+ while running more complex processes on the Cortex-M
  • Porting other OS to run on the PSoC™ 62 microcontroller
  • Applications with the Cortex-M0+ core measuring values and the Cortex-M4 visualizing or processing the data

Become a Sponsored Challenger

30 applicants will receive the PSoC™ 6S24 Pioneer Kit and will be recognized as sponsored challengers.

The sponsored challengers must use the ModusToolbox TM 3.0 development environment as well as demonstrate use of both the Cortex-M0+ and Cortex-M4 cores in their project. Challengers must post their progress and final project with at least 5 blog posts before the closing date. Posts which show inter-core communications and are media-rich with photos, videos and code samples will be viewed more favorably in the judging process.

First place prize is a Microsoft Surface 256GB 16GB Ram Platinum + Sonos One (Gen 2) Two Room Set Voice Controlled Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa Built in (2-Pack White.
