About

The satellite radar for the 77 GHz range offers the best possible object detection, range, and resolution. It streams raw ADC data to the ADAS compute unit instead of object data. While this requires higher bandwidth connectivity (>2.5Gbps), it unlocks substantial potential for higher performance central fusion algorithms, as the radar output is no longer limited to detected objects or pre-filtered data. This improves range and detection performance, as results are no longer limited by memory size or compute speed in the end node, enabled by our 77 GHz automotive radar solutions. Applying advanced interference mitigation methods to ADC data in SoC further reconstructs higher-quality data.

The shift from smart to satellite radar moves compute-intensive processing from the edge to the center, increasing reliance on connectivity while maximizing performance. Infineon’s RASIC™ transceivers are architecture-agnostic and, when combined with Brightlane™ Ethernet, enable scalable, high-performance 77 GHz radar module designs. We provide robust and scalable solutions without compromising cost, quality, or reliability - forming the foundation for future-proof automotive architectures.

Satellite radar overcomes compute limitations within the radar module by sending raw data to the central compute unit. This ensures no compromise in data for fusion and enables scalable performance through more complex algorithms.
