Jun 16, 2026

Munich, Germany – 16 June 2026 – For consumer devices such as wearables, smartphones, and tablets, demand for greater functionality, simplicity, longer battery life, printed circuit board (PCB) savings and seamless connectivity across the globe continues to grow. Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) addresses these requirements with the OPTIGA™ Connect Consumer OC1210, the world’s smallest and first 28 nm eSIM solution with seamless global connectivity. GSMA SGP.22-compliant OPTIGA Connect Consumer OC1210 will be validated with a wide range of mobile network operators worldwide, with full qualification by Chinese mobile network operators and Telecommunication Terminal Testing Technology Association (TAF)-compliance is expected shortly. This enables device manufacturers to address global markets with a single stock-keeping unit (SKU) while meeting local regulatory requirements. OPTIGA Connect Consumer OC1210 is ideal for various consumer devices, including smartphones, tablets, wearables, and notebooks.

Featuring Infineon’s 28 nm TEGRION™ security controller based on Arm®v8-M, the OPTIGA Connect Consumer OC1210 eSIM solution delivers high performance while keeping transaction times short. Its innovative architecture reduces power consumption by around 50 percent compared to alternative solutions, supported by 1.2 V operation. The device simplifies PCB design by eliminating the need for dedicated external components. In addition, its wafer-level chip-scale package (WLCSP) with only 1.8 x 1.6 x 0.4 mm minimizes footprint, supporting space-constrained designs such as slim or foldable smartphones. It reduces PCB space requirements by a factor of 37 relative to Nano SIMs and by a factor of 130 compared to standard SIMs and features a large enough memory to store 20+ Mobile Network Operator (MNO) profiles. Support for Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) and Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP) compliant with GSMA SGP.22 v3 allows users to download, store, and manage multiple mobile network operator profiles, including the simultaneous activation of more than one profile.

OPTIGA Connect Consumer OC1210 is post-quantum cryptography-ready (PQC) and supports in-field updates to maintain strong security over device lifetime.
