November 2025 – Die Infineon Technologies AG stellt ihre Galliumnitrid (GaN)-Technologie für die nächste Generation von Solarmikroinvertern von Enphase Energy, einem globalen Energietechnologie-Unternehmen und dem weltweit führenden Anbieter von Mikroinverter-basierten Solar- und Batteriesystemen, bereit. Die bi-direktionale CoolGaN™-Schalter-Technologie (bi-directional switch, BDS) von Infineon ermöglicht erhebliche Verbesserungen bei der Leistungsausgabe, der Energieeffizienz und der Systemzuverlässigkeit für die IQ9-Mikroinverter-Serie von Enphase. Für den neuen IQ9N-3P™-Commercial-Mikroinverter bedeutet das eine geringere Designkomplexität, sowie niedrigere Installations- und Systemkosten.

Wir möchten die effizientesten Leistungshalbleiter-Lösungen für Unternehmen wie Enphase bieten, um hochleistungsfähige, effiziente Anwendungen zu schaffen, die den Einsatz von Photovoltaik (PV)-Systemen weiter vorantreiben. Zusammen mit Enphase setzen wir unseren Weg fort, um die Dekarbonisierung zu fördern und die Abhängigkeit der Welt von fossilen Brennstoffen zu reduzieren.“

Die CoolGaN-BDS-Schalter von Infineon revolutionieren die Art und Weise der Leistungsumwandlung, indem sie eine einstufige Umwandlung ermöglichen. Bei der Technologie werden zwei oder vier unidirektionale Schalter durch einen einzelnen bidirektionalen Schalter, der einen Stromfluss in beide Richtungen zulässt, ersetzt. Damit können erhebliche Kosteneinsparungen erzielt werden, während Hersteller gleichzeitig kleinere und effizientere Geräte designen können. Die BDS-Technologie zeigt eine signifikante Reduzierung von Leistungsverlusten und übertrifft herkömmliche Silizium-Schalter um 68 Prozent und GaN-unidirektionale Schalter um 42 Prozent. Die bidirektionale Schalter-Technologie auf Basis von GaN ist ein entscheidender Bestandteil in einer breiten Palette von Anwendungen, einschließlich erneuerbarer Energien wie PV und Wind, Energiespeichersystemen (ESS), Elektrofahrzeug (EV)-Antrieben, Onboard-Chargern und KI-Servern, die von erhöhter Effizienz, Dichte und Zuverlässigkeit profitieren.
Die Partnerschaft unterstreicht das Engagement beider Unternehmen, den rasch wachsenden Solar-Markt anzugehen. Weltweit produzierte Solarenergie im Jahr 2024 etwa 7 Prozent der gesamten globalen Elektrizität. Die Welt wird voraussichtlich mehr als 5500 Gigawatt neuer erneuerbarer Energiekapazitäten zwischen 2024 und 2030 hinzufügen – fast dreimal so viel wie der Zuwachs zwischen 2017 und 2023. Laut der Internationalen Energieagentur (IEA) wird Solarenergie voraussichtlich 80 Prozent des Wachstums der globalen erneuerbaren Kapazitäten bis 2030 ausmachen .
Durch die höhere Leistung und Effizienz können die neuen Mikroinverter von Enphase nun nicht nur den Wohnsolarmarkt, sondern auch einen größeren Teil des kommerziellen Marktes bedienen. Diese Expansion in neue Märkte unterstreicht die Vielseitigkeit und die Fähigkeiten von Infineons GaN-Technologie und ihr Potenzial, Wachstum und Innovation in der erneuerbaren Energie-Industrie voranzutreiben.
Infineon hat ein starkes Portfolio mit mehr als 40 GaN-Produktankündigungen im letzten Jahr und ist ein bevorzugter Partner für Kunden, die hochwertige GaN-Lösungen suchen. Das Unternehmen ist auf dem Weg, seine skalierbare GaN-Fertigung auf 300-Millimeter-Wafern umzusetzen, was eine höhere Produktionskapazität und eine schnellere Lieferung von hochwertigen Galliumnitrid-Produkten ermöglicht.
