Classic HITFET™ 12V
Infineon’s Classic HITFET™ 12V (“Highly Integrated Temperature protected MOSFET”) scalable family with single and dual channel low-side switches (from 10 mΩ to 800 mΩ) in different packages (PG-TO252, PG-SOT223 and PG-DSO-8) are established and proven in the market for more than 25 years.
A Classic HITFET™ 12V versatile power transistor is an n-MOSFET with integrated protection and diagnostic features. The protection functions of the 12V low-side switches comprise protection against short circuits, overload, overtemperature and overvoltage. In addition, a Classic HITFET™ 12V has very good electrostatic discharge (ESD) characteristics. Fault detection and protection are safety features required and widely used today in numerous automotive and industrial applications.
There are two Classic HITFET™ 12V versions available: single and dual channel devices with latch or restart protection behavior. For low-side switches with restart, the device ‘restarts’ once the temperature drops/cools down under a certain limit. For latch devices, the microcontroller controls the timing of the restart.

The automotive qualified 12V low-side switches drive inductive, capacitive and resistive loads up to 10A. Classic HITFET™ 12V are used in automotive applications such as Body Control Module (BCM), gasoline direct injection, exterior front lighting or valve control. They can also be used in various industrial applications.
