About

Infineon’s AIROC™ Connected MCU solutions provide a single-chip integrated connectivity solution enabling developers to get IoT products to market fast and with confidence. Our connected MCUs can be used either as the primary applications processor for an IoT device, or to run connectivity as an autonomous self-hosted subsystem and thus minimize the processing burden on the main processor. This makes them suitable for a wide variety of applications, from light-duty cloud-connected devices to large appliances.

With a history of 20+ years of innovation in delivering wireless connectivity solutions, AIROC™ Connected MCUs are built on the most widely deployed Wi-Fi IP in the industry. Billions of data points collected from real-world environments have been used to optimize performance and ensure unsurpassed interoperability.

Combining Wi-Fi, MCU, and memory on a single chip, AIROC™ Connected MCUs offer a compact, self-hosted solution for cloud connectivity and application processing. With integrated RTOS and networking stacks, these products contain everything needed to get connected and quickly bring advanced products to market.

Our Connected MCU lineup includes Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) supporting both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.  All Wi-Fi and networking functions are managed on-chip, eliminating the need for an external host to run the network stack.

Infineon’s ModusToolbox™ software and tools provides code examples and development support for AIROC™ Connected MCUs as well as PSoC™ MCUs and sensors for full-featured IoT applications. Infineon also supports our customers through our global network of IoT partners using production-ready, fully-certified AIROC™ Connected MCU modules.

Infineon’s AIROC™ Connected MCU solutions meet the rigorous requirements for global regulatory certifications. Our module partners offer pre-certified solutions with integrated antennas, as well as flexible solutions that can be certified at the product level.

Our Connected MCU solutions also meet the requirements for Wi-Fi Alliance system-level certification, providing an extra level of interoperability assurance.

Infineon’s test infrastructure covers interoperability with many of the most popular access points in the market, adding assurance that your end products will operate smoothly in real-world network environments.
