Overview

XC800 - ROM series expands Infineon’s 8-bit XC800 microcontroller (MCU) family to provide flexibility to customers by combining a high-performance 8051 core with on-chip flash memory and powerful on-chip peripherals.

The Infineon XC800 microcontroller family has a CPU that is functionally upward-compatible with 8051. While the standard 8051 CPU is designed around a 12 clock machine cycle, the XC800 CPU uses a two clock period machine cycle. In addition to the high-performance architecture, further performance and cost-saving enhancements in the XC800 family include features such as an on-chip oscillator and embedded voltage regulator (EVR), supporting a single voltage supply of 3.3 V or 5.0 V.

  • High-speed SPI-compatible synchronous serial interface (SSC)
  • Capture/Compare Unit (CCU6) with two independent 16-bit timers dedicated for PWM generation for AC and DC motor control
