The REF_ICL8820_LED_43W_JT is a 43W reference design with Infineon’s ICL8820 flyback controller, suitable for constant voltage (CV) secondary-side regulated (SSR) LED lighting applications. It provides a plug-and-play solution with a start-up circuit using a depletion-mode MOSFET BSS126I for low standby losses and two regulation circuits offering a trade-off between cost and standby performance.

  • Constant voltage (CV) secondary-side regulated (SSR) reference design for LED lighting applications
  • ICL8820 provides integrated burst mode for very low stand-by power < 100mW and built-in jitter function for easy EMI certification without additional circuitry
  • Power factor (PF) > 0.9 and THD < 10% across a wide load range (AC input up to 277Vrms)
  • Maximum AC input voltage 90 – 305Vrms
  • Critical conduction mode and quasi-resonant mode with smart valley hopping
