High integration with OPTIREG™ Lite SBC technology
The OPTIREG™ Lite SBC family offers two variants: TLE9461 with a low-dropout voltage regulator (LDO) of 150mA and TLE9471 with a DC-DC buck converter of up to 500mA. Both variants are available as 5V or 3.3V output voltage options for microcontrollers, network transceivers, sensors, and other peripherals‘ power supply.
They feature an auxiliary 5 V integrated low-drop voltage regulator with up to 100 mA. The communication interface incorporates one CAN transceiver with a flexible data-rate performance of up to 5 Mbps according to ISO 11898-2:2016 (including a Partial Networking option). The devices include diagnostic and supervision features, supporting ECU functional safety concepts like under-voltage monitoring, window watchdog with reset, fail-safe operating mode, and fail-safe outputs.
Why use a Lite System Basis Chip?
- Space saving: 80 percent PCB board space savings by integrating eight chips in one single VQFN package with a 7 x 7 mm footprint.
- Energy saving: Offers intelligent power saving modes including stop and sleep mode and supports energy management enabling very low quiescent current mode.
- High system reliability: Extensive diagnostics and protections are embedded including limp home functionality.
- Reduced cost: Minimum number of external components reduce. Savings in BOM cost, part placing and handling, PCB board size, purchasing, and development.
- Multiple and flexible designs: Compatible hardware and software reduce design costs and effort, enabling usage in various applications.
Software compatibility across entire SBC portfolio
OPTIREG™ Lite SBC is software compatible with other OPTIREG™ SBC families, such as Mid-Range+ SBC, DCDC SBC and Multi-CAN Power+ SBC.
What are the key benefits of a Lite SBC?
- Reduced system cost through low component count and small PCB footprint
- Effective external load switch control through its integrated charge pump that can drive an external N-FET
- Extends battery life with very low quiescent current modes
- Enables design flexibility and reduces software design effort by the shared state machine and SPI access within the entire OPTIREG™ Lite SBC family
- Meets major car OEM requirements with excellent EMC and ESD performance
- Safely supply off-board loads (e.g., sensors) with short-circuit protected low-drop voltage regulators
