TC1728/24 (AUDO MAX)

The 32-bit TriCore™ microcontrollers TC1724/TC1728 are the entry-level derivatives of the 90 nm AUDO-MAX family

anchor

Overview

In order to reduce overall system cost, the single supply concept was introduced to the TC172x variants. An embedded voltage regulator (EVR) which is digitally controlled generates the I/O voltage of 3.3 V as well as the core voltage of 1.3 V. This eliminates the need for a power sequencing power supply of the past. Besides power supply improvements another major design focus was put on safety features.

Key Features

  • 1.5 MB embedded program flash
  • 64 KB data flash
  • 152 KB on-chip SRAM
  • 4 KB data cache
  • 16 DMA channels
  • One general-purpose timer array
  • 3 CAN nodes and 64 message objects
  • On-chip debug support
  • Low bill-of-material features
  • One high-speed micro link interface
  • Temperature: -40°C to +125°C
  • „ QFP-176 package

About

The 32-bit TriCore™ microcontrollers TC1724/TC1728 are the entry-level derivatives of the 90 nm AUDO-MAX family. The derivate TC1724 comes with 1/1.5 MB and 80 MHz as such addressing powertrain applications with lower complexity as well as chassis, safety, and e-mobility applications. For enhanced performance and pin-out the derivate TC1728 offers 1.5 MB and 133 MHz. Both products are offered in easy-to-mount (0.5 mm pitch) QFP packages with 144 or 176 pins. In order to facilitate SW partitioning both products come with dedicated memory sections for program flash and data flash as well as extensive SRAM (up to 152 KB).

ASIL requirements are more and more a topic. In this context diagnostic coverage is a key feature of an ECU. TC1724/TC1728 offer a comprehensive set of safety features like e.g., error code correction (ECC) for the full memory set (flash and SRAM). Also, SW is available to meet safety requirements in accordance with our PRO-SIL™ safety standard. The comprehensive and consistent tool support known from earlier TriCore™ products will also be provided for TC172x variants.
