Overview

The CIPOS™ Maxi intelligent power modules integrate power and control components to increase reliability, optimize PCB size and system costs. They are designed to control three-phase AC motors and permanent magnet motors in variable speed drives applications. The product concept is especially adapted to power applications, which need excellent thermal performance and electrical isolation as well as meeting EMI requirement and overload protection.

About CIPOS™ Maxi IPMs

The existing IGBT-based portfolio IM818 series offers 5 A and 10 A and 15 A in 1200 V class up to 3.0 kW power rating. In 2020, the first 1200 V Silicon Carbide IPM IM828 series in the same package based on CoolSiC™ MOSFET technology was launched, it can offer over 4.8 kW power rating. CIPOS™ Maxi has achieved the smallest package in 1200 V IPM class while still offering high power density and best performance.

The CIPOS™ Maxi IPMs incorporate important key features, e.g. fully isolated dual-in-line molded module with DCB, rugged 1200 V SOI gate driver technology, integrated booststrap functionality, over-current shutdown or under-voltage lockout at all channels.

The key benefits are, among other things, the smallest package size in 1200 V IPM class with high power density and best performance, the enhanced robustness of gate driver technology for excellent protection, high efficiency, the adaption to high switching application with lower power loss and the simplified design and manufacturing.
