Overview

Embedded in different power packages and featuring the lowest RDS(on), the Power PROFET™ family offers high current and energy capability in a scalable family. The ability to drive high current loads makes Power PROFET™ + very well adapted to replace electromechanical relays, fuses, and discrete circuits. All Power PROFET™ are qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 and Power PROFET™ + additionally is PRO-SIL™ ISO 26262-ready.

The Power PROFET™ + smart high-side switch family provides a very low RDS(on) – one variant down to 0.6 mΩ – in a small 8-pin leadless power package. The ability to drive high current loads up to 60 A and its state of the art integrated protections and diagnosis features makes Power PROFET™ +  ideally suited to replace electromechanical relays, fuses and discrete circuits in power distribution and other high current applications in a 12/24/48 V power net. Severe automotive requirements like short circuit, low battery voltage during the cranking and low impact on EMC in PWM operation are fully met. The current sense (kILIS) accuracy especially at low current allows a reliable diagnosis at system level.

The Power PROFET™ family offers the highest energy ratings ever specified for a PROFET™. This family is ideal to address high current loads with fluctuating current profile and are especially designed to manage high currents and high energy for applications under the hood. In addition, the power packages allow enhanced thermal capability and repetitive inductive clamping. Therefore the Power PROFET™ are the only scalable family of protected devices capable to replace relays & fuses from 20 A up to 60 A DC and available for 12/24 and 48V power net. They are easy to design in and go beyond PROFET™ + 2 current capability. They are also an alternative where gate driver ICs in addition with MOSFETs may take too much space and an integrated device is preferred.

Relay replacement through semiconductor contributes to the increase of safety through diagnosis. Power PROFET™ are also immune to dust, shock and vibrations and therefore reduce maintenance. Furthermore they contribute to the increase of comfort through noiseless and smaller modules.
