ISOFACE™ digital input ICs provides a robust galvanic isolation of 500 VAC (EN60664-1, UL508) and allows up to four times more channels on the same PCB area compared to alternative solutions. The high integration density and low-power consumption of the ISOFACE™ digital input ICs enable highly compact industrial control products.

The diagnostic capabilities of the ISO1I813T includes wire-break detection between the input ICs and the connected sensors or switches. It allows the microcontroller/bus-ASIC to identify the affected channel. The device also monitors the supply voltage (V bb missing voltage) and the error pin indicates when the input data is invalid. A pre-warning is issued if V bb falls below a certain limit (V bb under-voltage), enabling safe shutdown or mode change. Monitoring wire-break and V bb improves factory maintenance, minimizing costly unscheduled machine downtimes.

These input ICs can be directly connected to both digital inputs, such as sensors or switches, and the microcontroller or bus-ASIC, providing robust galvanic isolation as an integrated feature.

ISOFACE™ digital input ICs offer connectivity to the microcontroller or bus-ASIC via high-speed SPI or parallel 8-bit interfaces. Daisy-chaining of multiple ICs is supported for compact system designs, and ISO1I813T ensures uncompromised data transfer with CRC-checking for serial communication.
