Moving forward for high-quality solutions

Our adoption of AI across the organization results in smarter products and more streamlined processes.

AI applications are becoming increasingly popular in industry, retail, healthcare, research and the consumer sector. The semiconductor industry plays a decisive role in this development: AI applications are based and depending on semiconductor solutions – not only in data centers, where the algorithms run, but also on the devices, with products such as special sensors, microcontrollers, and memory solutions. Gartner estimates that AI-specific chip sales are expected to reach $76.8 billion by 2025. Consequently, AI hardware and the semiconductor industry are in a prime position to be a key driver of future AI advances.

However, as AI applications continue to evolve, they are also becoming more comprehensive, complex, and application-specific. While software brought the first development pushes in AI development and hardware formed the basis, in the future the parallelism of hardware and software development will enable the next major AI breakthroughs, as the complexity of algorithms and computational models requires new performance dimensions of technical components.

As one of the leading semiconductor manufacturers, Infineon is well positioned to fully exploit the potential of AI in various technology areas. We accelerate innovation and create value - by powering, enabling, providing and using AI. All aspects contribute to achieving our business goals and to solving our customers' challenges.

Discover Infineon’s AI solutions

Infineon provides the right solution for a wide range of AI projects. Here, we look at how Infineon enables, powers, and uses AI for the benefit of all

Infineon Technologies AG released details of its new PSOC™ Edge family of microcontrollers (MCUs) optimized for machine learning (ML) applications. The three new PSOC Edge MCU series, E81, E83 and E84 offer a scalable and compatible range of performance, features, and memory options. They are all supported with comprehensive system design tools and software that enable developers to quickly move from concept to product and bring new ML-enabled Internet of Thing (IoT), consumer and industrial applications to market. Automotive component suppliers and OEMs alike are faced with the challenge that every car is unique. It is unique in how, where and by whom it is driven, its design, the purpose of the ride, as well as the road and traffic conditions where it operates. To ensure that each vehicle functions well and runs optimally, it is necessary to know and manage it and its conditions individually. The AURIX™ microcontroller (MCU) family from Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) provides advanced real-time computing hardware, e.g. for embedded AI in safety-critical automotive applications. To leverage these powerful capabilities, Infineon’s ecosystem partner Ekkono Solutions now offers an easy-to-use, fast and effective software development kit (SDK) for creating AI algorithms for embedded systems based on AURIX TC3x and TC4x. Imagimob, an Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) company, updates its Imagimob Studio. Users can now visualize their machine learning (ML) modeling workflows and leverage advanced capabilities to develop edge device models better and faster. The latest release of Imagimob’s development platform for AI/ML on edge devices includes the roll-out of a major user experience upgrade. The all-new Graph UX interface is designed to bring greater ease and clarity to the ML modeling process while offering advanced new capabilities such as built-in data collection and real-time model evaluation for Infineon hardware. In line with its mission to offer the best and fastest ways to take smart devices to market, Imagimob, an Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) company, is now launching IMAGIMOB Ready Models. The complete machine learning (ML) solutions are guaranteed to be robust, high-performing, and production-ready for edge devices. Ready Models can be quickly deployed onto existing microcontroller (MCU) hardware, such as PSoC™ 6, without the cost, time, or expertise required for custom development. A suitable regulatory framework enables innovation and sets the right standards to ensure responsible use of AI. Infineon is committed to being a trusted expert in the AI journey, whether it is in politics, society, or the business world. This includes advisory activities in academies and government bodies, and also an active role in industry associations. Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has announced a new family of microcontrollers (MCUs) in the PSoC™ portfolio of Arm® Cortex®-based high-performance, low-power, secured devices. PSoC Edge is designed for next generation responsive compute and control applications, featuring hardware-assisted machine learning (ML) acceleration. Governments all around the world are racing to regulate AI. Did you know that Infineon already has guiding principles for responsible use of Artificial Intelligence? Our AI Manifesto is now part of our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy. It defines minimum standards for our AI systems and makes sure AI is used only for the benefit of humans, nature, and society. Archetype AI, headquartered in Silicon Valley, is a frontier AI company developing a foundation model for Physical AI, a new form of artificial intelligence that is capable of perceiving, understanding, and reasoning about the world around us. Coined a ‘Large Behaviour Model’ (LBM) by Archetype AI, Infineon will pilot this new model that can uncover the hidden patterns of behaviour in unstructured sensor data and blend real-time sensor data with natural language to create a living view of the world to analyse complex sensor-based data. Infineon Technologies AG has opened a new laboratory for the development of quantum electronics in Oberhaching near Munich. The objective is to develop and test microelectronic circuits for quantum computers which will be stable and small, will operate reliably and which can be produced on an industrial scale. Approximately twenty researchers will work at the lab. In addition to quantum computing, activities will also focus on the development of AI algorithms for the early detection of variances in power systems. Infineon Technologies AG has acquired the Stockholm-based startup Imagimob AB, a leading platform provider for Machine Learning solutions for edge devices. With this acquisition Infineon advances its position to offer a world-class Machine Learning (ML) solution and significantly complements its AI offerings. Imagimob provides an end-to-end machine learning toolchain that is highly flexible and easy to use with a strong focus on delivering production-grade ML-models. Infineon is acquiring 100% of the company's shares.
