Experts and talents in chip design, system architecture, AI systems and software development are teaming up in the fields of product characterization and product design, modelling of complex systems and developing innovative AI-enabled products and systems.
The Development Center is expected to employ around 250 people in the medium term who are going to support the growth of various Infineon business divisions in the coming years. In Dresden, the Infineon Group has one of its largest and most cutting-edge locations for developing wafer technologies and manufacturing processes, as well as a highly automated production plant. About 2,700 employees carry out research and develop technologies for microcontrollers, sensors, power semiconductors and make chips there – including the automotive industry. Synergies are created because of direct links with the development and production location in Dresden. That will help develop products faster and put them on the market sooner. The Development Center works with a broad network of suppliers, universities, research and public institutions as well as start-ups in the regional eco-system Saxony.
