Natural everyday Life Interaction with your Computer

A great user experience is key to integrate touchless gesture control into our daily life. Air gestures need to be natural, intuitive, and convenient in order to be accepted by everyone.

Touchless gesture control middleware

Infineon offers REAL3™ Gesture Control, a 3D gesture middleware solution including a basic gesture set to make your daily interaction with your computer more effective and convenient. This includes e.g. intuitive gestures to view pictures or movies, to browse the internet or emails, to zoom and scroll, to easily switch between applications, and to enhance many other applications by adding gesture functionality.

Together with the REAL3™ Image Sensor and pmdtechnologies’ camera reference design CamBoardpico(s), the gesture middleware provides a robust and natural gesture control experience, ideally suited for AiO PCs and notebooks.

Application opportunities

When integrating a 3D Time-of-Flight camera into a consumer device, additional use cases besides touchless gesture control are meaningful:

  • Secure face recognition
  • Background removal
  • Virtual keyboard
  • 3D Scanning, environmental awareness
