LED pixel light controller solutions

LED pixel driver solutions for supply, communication, and LED control

High-definition (HD) light engines pave the way for new and improved safety features and enhanced driving comfort. For example, HD light can be used to warn the driver of hazards by highlighting people or objects on the roadside. It can project markings on the road, e.g., to help the driver navigate through a construction site. Moreover, established features such as the glare-free high beam or bending lights run more precisely and smoothly.

Infineon offers dedicated solutions for supply and communication as well as for LED control.

System benefits

  • High-definition (HD) light
  • Enhanced safety and comfort
  • Information projection
  • Dynamic road illumination

Microcontrollers

Highly scalable solutions with safety features and enhanced comfort

The Traveo™ T2G Cluster family offers safety features and a graphic engine to achieve a minimal memory footprint for the graphics processing unit. It contains all necessary interfaces to control all front light parts (Base LEDs, Matrix LED, and others). The scalability of the TRAVEO™ T2G as well as of the AURIX™ family ensures to find the controller for the pattern generation depending on interfaces and light sources.

Usage of TLD5501-2QV as LED driver and Voltage regulator in front light applications

  • Lighting applications are changing and there is the demand of more sophisticated pixel light sources. The new light sources need a different approach on the power supply and TLD5501-2QV covers the gap with the existing architectures. Moreover the TLD5501-2QV is also the preferred solutions for high intensity LED or Laser used in premium.
  • To promote the device two evaluation boards are available. The device has been also included into DC-DC designer to reduce the design-in phase. Low level drivers are available to reduce the coding effort.
