48V eScooters
Overview
An eScooter battery can be Lead Acid (in case of inexpensive models) or Li-Ion, due to its higher performances. In this last scenario, the BMS board should protect it over its lifetime by controlling the flow of current in both ways (charging and discharging).
48V is the most common battery voltage of an eScooter battery pack, and the number of cells in series will depend on the chemistry of the Li-Ion battery used. Each cell is designed to operate between 2.5V and 4V and the BMS will cut the power if the cell goes below or above these 2 thresholds.
