About

The PSOC™ 4000T MCU has an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ CPU and features Infineon’s 5th generation high-performance CAPSENSE™ capacitive sensing along with inductive sensing, liquid level sensing and CAPSENSE™  hover touch.

The 5th gen CAPSENSE™ technology provides 10x higher SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) performance with 10x lower consumption than previous generations of CAPSENSE™.

The PSOC™ 4000T inductive sensing is based on differential and ratio-metric sensing architecture, providing wide flexibility on both sensor inductance and sensor operating frequency.

The PSOC™ 4000T microcontrollers' liquid level sensing technology eliminates the need for contact with the liquid, works in noisy environments, and can detect different liquids and reject foam and residue.

The PSOC™ 4000T family provides an easy upgrade path for PSOC™ 4000 and PSOC™ 4000S based designs to utilize the advanced 5th generation CAPSENSE™ via software and package compatibility. PSOC™ 4000T series enables a variety of applications including wearables, hearables, home appliances, small kitchen appliances, coffee machines and others.

Ultra-low power:

One of the industry’s first always-on touch sensing features enables HMI operation with very low active and standby power consumption, enabling longer battery life on battery-powered products such as wearables and hearables.

Signal-to-noise ratio:

Best-in-class signal-to-noise ratio improves reliability, provides a seamless user experience, a faster refresh rate, and optimizes average power consumption.

Liquid tolerance: Reliable operation under wet and high moisture conditions prevents false activation from a variety of liquids, including highly conductive salty water.

Multi-sense:

Supports a combination of multiple sensing methods and a variety of user interfaces such as touch, slider, force-touch, proximity, finger-tracking, metal touch, hover touch. The Multi-Sense can also be used to design a high resolution liquid level sensor

Advanced proximity interface:

Long distance proximity detection up to 30 cm, proximity sensing with directivity, and proximity gestures through configurable gesture control.
