One remarkable attraction is the Bilstein valley with its large nature park and one of the most important stalactite/stalagmite cave exhibits in Germany. Other special features are the city of Warstein's all-weather sauna and all-weather swimming pool featuring waterfalls and massage fountains, an athletic pool with four lanes as well as a diving board and a 3 meter diving tower, quiet relaxation spaces and a 32 square meter play pool for the younger swimmers.

Events? Warstein Takes off!

Every year in late summer an unbelievable atmosphere spreads out above Warstein: The Warstein International Montgolfiade enchants spectators from Warstein and from around the world. 300 hot-air balloons, spectacular mass take-offs, mesmerizing nightglows, special shapes and an attractive main program make the Montgolfiade days an unforgettable experience!

Other annual events on the agenda include the Brewery Festival, the City Center Carnival and the Warstein Champions' Trophy, an equestrian tournament with the world's best show jumpers.

Summer at the Lake, Winter on the Slopes

The Möhne Reservoir, Sorpe Dam, Alfsee and Hennesee Reservoirs make summer in our region a refreshing adventure that stays close to home:

And in the winter you'll be among those lucky enough to reach the ski slopes in Winterberg and Willingen using local and state highways, avoiding the autobahn crush. Among the most famous winter events are the international bobsled and ski-jumping championships and even dog-sled racing.
