The non-isolated buck circuit drives the 3 LEDs with ~315mA average current, ~20% current ripple, and ~590ms time to light.
The main MOSFET is turned on in the first valley.
ICL8002G is a single-stage offline LED driver IC that is a perfect fit for flyback and floating buck topologies. It performs power factor
correction (PFC) and achieves high efficiency by quasi-resonant control.
This example is a buck converter for LED Retrofit Bulb with ICL8002G & CoolMOS™ 600V C6. A non-isolated buck topology is often used
if galvanic isolation is not required because of very low component cost (small inductor, MOSFET with low voltage rating) and small size.
