Fixed Linear Voltage Post Regulator TLS202B1MBV50
Application Circuit

The TLS202B1MB V50 is a monolithic integrated fixed linear voltage post
regulator for load currents up to 150 mA. The TLS202B1MB V50 regulates
an input voltage VI up to 18 V to a fixed output voltage of 5 V with a precision
of ±4 %. The TLS202B1MB V50 is especially designed for applications
requiring very low standby currents, e.g. with a permanent connection to
the preregulators like DC-DC converters. The TLS202B1MB V50 can be
also used in all other applications requiring a stabilized 5 V voltage.

The device is designed for the harsh environment of automotive applications.
Therefore it is protected against overload, short circuit and overtemperature
conditions by the implemented output current limitation and the overtemperature
shutdown circuit.

Thermal model description:
THERMAL_MODEL = 1: JEDEC 1s0p, 600mm2 cooling area
THERMAL_MODEL = 2: JEDEC 1s0p, 300mm2 cooling area
THERMAL_MODEL = 3: JEDEC 1s0p, footprint
THERMAL_MODEL = 4: JEDEC 2s2p
THERMAL_MODEL = 6: JEDEC 2s2p, no vias
THERMAL_MODEL = 10: No self heating, only TEMP value used as temperature

Model performance :
- dynamic behavior not modeled (CQ/ESR stability, line/load transient response,
start-up, PSRR)
- static behavior is modelled by approximation to the real behavior of the device
over temperature
- the thermal simulations represent an approximation of the actual thermal
behavior of the device according to the JEDEC standards at Power = 0.25W
and Ambient Temperature = 85°C
