Introducing EZ-PD™ CCG4 USB Type-C controller - Industry's first two port USB Type-C controller with power delivery
EZ-PD™ CCG4 is Infineon's newest USB Type-C port controller with power delivery. CCG4 provides a two port USB-C solution ideal for desktops, notebooks and systems like power banks, monitors and docks. CCG4 is based on Infineon's PSoC™ technology with 128 KB flash memory supporting fail-safe boot up. CCG4 supports Upstream Facing Port (UFP), Downstream Facing Port (DFP), and Dual Role Port (DRP) modes. CCG4 reduces BOM by integrating four 1 W VCONN FETs, overvoltage and overcurrent protection and 15 kV system level ESD protection.
Infineon has USB Type-C and power delivery reference designs available for various applications. These are available online and can be used to speed up the design cycle.
