High power, no heatsink: enhancing high-voltage motor drive with CoolGaN™ in home appliances

Webinar date: 12.06.2025 | 9 AM CET | 5 PM CET

As the demand for compact, high-performance motor drive solutions grows, GaN technology enables significant advancements in power density, thermal management, and overall system reliability.

Join our webinar focusing on GaN technology in high-voltage motor drives, and learn how Infineon‘s CoolGaN™ power semiconductors can enhance the performance of home appliances such as refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, laundry machines, and induction cooktops.

You will gain insights into how GaN-based motor inverters improve switching performance, enhance system reliability, and achieve superior energy ratings, while eliminating the need for heatsinks. The session covers key benefits such as bidirectional current sensing, optimized thermal performance, and smooth dv/dt control for EMI reduction.

Join us to learn how CoolGaN™ is revolutionizing motor drives, reducing manufacturing costs, and offering a powerful alternative to traditional IGBT solutions for applications in home appliances, industrial automation, and beyond.

You will learn about:

  • How CoolGaN™ reduces power losses and improves overall system efficiency in high-voltage motor drives
  • How GaN enables heatsink-free designs, lowering material costs and simplifying manufacturing
  • GaN-based evaluation boards for easy implementation in motor drives in home appliances.
