Barrel connector replacement – Power your next product with USB-C

USB-C is a universal connector accepted worldwide. With support for USB power delivery specifications allowing delivery of up to 240 W, USB-C has the potential to become the universal power source for most electronic devices. While a large variety of chargers and adapters have moved to USB-C to power new smartphones, laptops and tablets featuring a USB-C connector, millions of other electronic devices still use old, incompatible barrel or custom connectors to receive power. This session introduces a concept for a universal USB-C charger for all portable electronic devices, enabling them to migrate to USB-C from custom-made chargers that are less consumer-friendly and far less environmentally sound. Infineon’s EZ-PD™ BCR product family will be highlighted as the ideal solution for replacing old barrel connectors on any portable electronic device with USB-C.

Predictive maintenance using machine learning with XMC™ industrial microcontrollers, XENSIV™ sensors and MicroAI™ technology

Maintenance is essential in all systems that are subject to wear and tear. Waiting for parts to completely fail before replacing them can be harmful to productivity as well as cost. Periodic or preventive maintenance can be performed, but if done at too short an interval can mean replacing of parts with useful life left and again prove to be costly. Predictive maintenance involves use of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to analyze the condition of the parts and derive insights into how healthy the system is, and provide an estimated time left to perform maintenance.
