Infineon has created a PSOC 63 Bluetooth LE MCU Continuous Analyte Sensing platform to help monitor lactate and glucose levels. This platform brings an all-in-one solution for customers to develop products that help address the monitoring needs of coaches, athletes, and health practitioners treating metabolic syndromes. This platform comes as an inclusive evaluation solution include the necessary hardware and software building blocks comprised of the PSOC 63, PCB, and multi-device tool chain.

Some key features of the PSOC 63 Continuous Analyte Sensing platform:

  • Support for up to 3 electrode bio sensors
  • Less than 5 pA RMS noise
  • Compact size with less than 20 mm in diameter
  • 10 G ohm sensitivity
  • 550 mV bias (other values available)
  • Multi-analyte support (glucose and lactate)

A step towards improved healthcare for all

Biomarker testing has been prevalent in the medical and health care fields for decades. It is a powerful tool useful to detect and diagnose health conditions or diseases, to guide decisions on treatment, and to monitor the effects of treatment and the progression of an individual’s health status. Existing solutions are often limited to discrete testing offering measurements in a specific time snapshot, while continuous monitoring is limited to single analyte sensing.

Infineon’s PSOC 63 Continuous Analyte Sensing platform can handle multi-analyte (glucose and lactate) by leveraging the MCU performance for on-board processing, and robust Bluetooth LE capabilities to wirelessly transmit relevant health metrics securely to a corresponding phone or smart watch.
