RetinAI

What is your main idea?

At RetinAI we develop healthcare solutions to make hospitals more efficient using artificial intelligence (AI). The company builds tools to collect, analyze and to organize health data, empowering healthcare professionals and patients with meaningful and organised data analysis supported by AI. RetinAI provides a subscription model for vertical integration deep into the medical device, improving the performance of the apparel, as well as automated support in analysis and evaluation of medical data via its main product: RetinAI Discovery.

What is/was your biggest challenge so far?

One of the biggest challenges when entering the medical field is convincing clinicians about the use of a new solution for solving a clinical problem. Clinicians and regulatory authorities are still skeptical about the capabilities of AI systems for supporting the process of decision making and the support of eye diseases is no exception. In our case we solved the issue by breaking the challenge in small tasks which could be automatised and unfolded, if required, empowering and accelerating the process of decision making.

What does a (good) partner mean for you?

A good partner is a company or institution that is able to cover a specific requirement in a venture (i.e funding or sales..). They normally would cover research, distribution or organisational challenges thanks to a series of specific features that make them special. Communication and trust are just some one of the most important requirements of the relationship and they need to be considered and evaluated carefully, as partnerships between companies tend to cover a remarkable period of time.
