REE “skateboard” takes design freedom to a new level

REE’s “skateboard” platform marks a revolutionary departure from century-old concepts hampered by restricted functionality and efficiency. Accelerating the transformation towards green, cost-effective and energy-efficient mobility, this body-agnostic, modular, and flexible platform incorporates batteries, power electronics, and the AI brain for drive-, steer-, and brake-by-wire controls. This disruptive chassis concept allows carmakers to build the e-vehicle of their dreams with greater speed, flexibility and cost efficiency than ever, freely positioning the steering wheel and pedals, for instance, thanks to drive-by-wire. Our contribution to this game-changing design concept includes AURIX™ safe and secure microcontrollers, drivers, power semiconductors, sensors, and security controllers.

60GHz In-cabin monitoring system

Infineon offers a highly integrated 60GHz radar transceiver which offers the most power and cost-effective solution for our customers. Used predominately for in-cabin monitoring systems, our 60GHz portfolio enables our customers to achieve multiple functionalities by using a single 60GHz radar setup. For instance, these sensors allow for the development of child presence detection (CPD) inside the car, which is a safety relevant feature to protect children from being locked and left behind resulting in a dangerous health risk scenario.

Automotive in-vehicle infotainment system

Instrument Cluster, Head Unit, and Cockpit Domain Controller are the central-control and user-interface systems that manage and deliver driving information and entertainment to the driver and passengers – all through audio and video interfaces, control elements such as touch screen displays, button panels, voice commands, and more.
