Wireless charging is becoming an increasingly expected feature on many portable devices and is rapidly driving forward innovation in other industries. More and more automotive brands are implementing in-cabin wireless charging solutions to answer consumers´ need for simple and cableless charging. Manufacturers are looking for turnkey system solutions that are scalable to support emerging Qi standards, as well as proprietary charging protocols. The wireless charging solutions offered by Infineon are designed to meet these requirements by offering a high degree of mixed-signal integration and programmability to expedite development cycles. Along with this, Infineon offers a range of software tools and features such as adaptive foreign object detection (FOD) and device authentication.

Infineon offers turnkey system solutions including wireless charging ICs (transmitters and receivers), power MOSFETs (OptiMOS™ family), secure element (OPTIGA™ Trust Charge authentication), and automotive microcontrollers (TRAVEO™ family). WLC1 is the first generation of wireless charging ICs and comprises WLC1115 (consumer transmitter), WLC1515 (automotive transmitter), WLC1150 (proprietary transmitter), and WLC1250 (proprietary receiver). WLC1 integrates programmable and analog blocks, gate drivers, DC-DC controllers, and sensing-protection peripherals. They are offered in both extended industrial and automotive grades with different packaging options, and they are all supported in ModusToolbox™ software.
