The OptiMOS™ 6 200 V technology was designed for a wide range of applications: ranging from static switching applications to high switching frequency SMPS.
In static switching applications which often include a protective function it is important to minimize conduction losses and provide enough robustness to survive any abnormal conditions. The combination of lowest RDS(on) and high SOA robustness makes the OptiMOS™ 6 200 V an ideal solution for battery protection systems (BMS) which can be found in a wide range of applications such as telecom, server, battery powered applications and renewables.
Motor control is also a topology that is used in a wide range of applications such as e-Scooters, Micro EVs and E-forklifts. For this topology it is important to reduce conduction losses, stable switching behavior and ease of paralleling. As a result, the OptiMOS™ 6 200 V is a natural fit as it provides lowest RDS(on), improved switching behavior due to lowest Qrr and improved paralleling compared to the previous generation.
These features also make the technology an ideal fit for switched mode power supplies (SMPS) which can be found for e.g. in telecom, server and high power chargers. For these type of applications and fast switching applications such as Audio and wireless charging the OptiMOS™ 6 200 V technology additionally features an improved FOMg compared to the previous generation.
