The CIPOS™ IPMs are families of highly integrated, compact power modules designed to drive motors in applications ranging from home appliances, fans, pumps to general purpose drives.
These energy-efficient intelligent power modules integrate the latest power semiconductor and control ICs technology leveraging Infineon’s advanced IGBTs, MOSFETs, next-generation Gate Driver ICs and state-of-the-art thermo-mechanical technology. The modules improve system performance and energy efficiency by delivering increased power density, enhanced system ruggedness and reliability.
A broad selection of modules is offered to enable optimum PCB design, size and system costs. This simplifies the motor drive design, improves reliabilities and lowers component counts while significantly reducing time to market.
Infineon also offers MIPAQ™ Pro, a fully qualified and tested high power IPM integrating IGBTs, gate drivers, a heat sink, sensors, digital control electronics as well as digital bus communication. Nominal current ratings of up to 2400 A are supported. MIPAQ™ Pro is available with liquid cooled as well as air cooled heat sinks.
Intelligent power module CIPOS™ Mini integrates power factor correction
New CIPOS™ Mini intelligent power module (IPM) combines a single switch boost PFC stage and a 3 phase inverter in one package. With the PFC integrated into the inverter module, the integrated CIPOS ™ Mini IPM helps to reduce system size and the bill of material. Moreover, the additional PCB space helps realizing further integration. It is designed to control induction motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors with single phase PFC in variable speed drives. These are typically found in applications like air conditioning and low power motor drives of up to 2 kW power capability.
