EZ-PD™ CCG3 USB-C to DisplayPort Cable Solution
The Type-C to DisplayPort cable solution enables connectivity between a USB Type-C receptacle and DisplayPort (DP) or Mini DisplayPort (mDP) receptacle.
This cable solution will have a Type-C plug on one end and DP/mDP plug on the other end. The cable solution meets the requirements described in Section 4.2 of the VESA DisplayPort Alt Mode on USB Type-C Standard Version 1.0 (Scenarios 2a and 2b USB Type-C to DisplayPort Cables). The solution also supports integrated USB Billboard Device Class used to communicate the DisplayPort Alternate Mode to a host system which does not support the DisplayPort mode.
CCG3 (CYPD3120) is a single chip solution which integrates USB Power Delivery Type-C transceiver, USB Billboard controller, SBU switch and terminations on the AUX lines, reducing BOM cost and solution footprint. CCG3 for the Type-C to DisplayPort cable solution is available in 40-QFN package.
Infineon has developed a demo board (not for sale) to demonstrate connectivity between Type-C and DP. This demo board contains a single CCG3 (CYPD3120) in a 40-QFN package. SWD header is available for programming the CYPD3120.
