Modular Hybrid Inverter Design Platform Power conversion, control and connectivity blocks for rapid prototyping of residential and small commercial hybrid inverter solutions
The modular hybrid inverter design platform at a glance
Infineon is developing a modular set of power conversion, control and connectivity blocks to enable the fast prototyping of residential and small commercial hybrid inverter solutions.
Customers can choose and combine state-of-the-art technologies such as TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT H7 or CoolSiC™ MOSFETs in innovative packages like QDPAK to build different topologies like HERIC or NPC2 - making sure that highest efficiency and lowest cost per kW are no longer a contradiction.

Broad and growing range of functional block designs
The platform provides pre-developed hardware design blueprints for all essential functional blocks needed to build residential and small commercial hybrid inverter solutions:
- PV boost DC/DC converters with 2 or 3 independent MPP trackers
- Bi-directional DC/AC inverter blocks for both 1-phase and 3-phase systems: HERIC, NPC2 and B6
- Bi-directional buck boost DC/DC converters
Software offerings for all functional blocks
Each hardware block design comes with a corresponding software offering.
- Standard offer: a GUI + binary file package that allows fast and uncomplicated evaluation of the provided hardware design
- Special offer: Model based design example software source code package, supported by Modus ToolBox
Additionally, there is also a connectivity software solution that allows Over The Air (OTA) updates
