Anja's Story
Leading a team to the best results
Anja has been with Infineon Villach since 2014, starting out as an Engineer Failure Analysis and gravitating to the position of Senior Manager Failure Analysis in 2018. She believes that decisiveness and flexibility are the key attributes required to successfully lead a team and help the members develop their skills so they can achieve the best results and meet their quality goals.
Anja in five words:
Maker CreativeThinker Allrounder AnimalLover SolutionFinderMy main focus is on helping to guarantee Infineon’s high quality standards. I do this with various analysis methods like transmission electron microscopy and focused ion beam analysis. I coach my team and help to ensure that they can conduct their work.
The failure analysis lab contributes to the whole development process. We create images and failure analysis results, based on which decisions are made for all processes. We also help to uncover problems with products.

Working days with a lot of variety in an international team and having the opportunity to work with nearly all Infineon products.
It is not always easy to be agile as Infineon is a huge company and some things take time.
My team and the environment we create to grow together.
A Failure Analysis Engineer is like a doctor for products that failed on the application side or have performed differently than they should have. Our job is to be alert and check very point to improve the quality of our products. In short, we are part of the solution.
Zhuo's Story
Chasing problems
Zhuo joined Infineon in Warstein in 2021 as a Failure Analysis Engineer. His main task involves identifying the root cause of power module failures, taking responsibility, and tuning into every anomaly in the search for perfection. Ultimately, his work helps to boost customer satisfaction and enables Infineon to improve its products.

Failure analysis reports, which can help the customer to find out the root cause of their application failure, and help Infineon to optimize its products. Overall, stronger customer relationships and greater customer satisfaction.
There was a project at a key customer site, which was important but stopped because of an unknown failure in the PV system. Through my analysis, we found out the root cause in their system. It was concealed deep within the system so the customer was very happy.
To know the development history of our products – which is crucial to the failure mechanism.
There was a tiny point which I just ignored during the analysis. But in the end, we identified that it really was the reason for the failure. What I have learnt is that we must stay alert to every abnormal finding.
Through my work, I can contribute to early detection of new package weaknesses to ensure Infineon can deliver good quality products to its customers.
