The Winners 2021

The transmittals were evaluated by a jury of experienced Infineon employees and an associate university professor on the basis of criteria such as sustainability, quality of life, creativity and innovation, accuracy of the presentation, comprehensibility, elaboration and overall impression.

1. Platz: "Windschattensensor" - A sensor allows trucks to drive in the slipstream. A radar sensor recognises the braking behaviour of trucks and shares this information with the trucks behind. This triggers further braking processes.

2. Platz: "Home-Schooling-Organizer" - The organizing of school routine and private appointments is harmonized. In addition, parents receive digital notifications about the learning success of their child.

3. Platz: "Solarstrom im Winter" - Sensors placed on the brackets of solar panels ensure that the panels are adjusted in the best angle to the sunlight to guarantee high performance. The bracket is made of recycled material and equipped with a windbreak.

3 Platz: "Sprachgesteuerter Rollstuhl" - A voice-controlled wheelchair makes movement easier for paraplegic persons. An app measures the house to ensure a safe usage.

The Winners 2020

The transmittals were evaluated by a jury of experienced Infineon employees and two associate university professors on the basis of criteria such as sustainability, quality of life, creativity and innovation, accuracy of the presentation, comprehensibility, elaboration and overall impression.

In this year we had three projects with the same score and thus three winners!

"Cook Smart" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - An intelligent hob can display cooking recipies and step-by-step instructions through a beamer. In addition it knows which groceries are in the fridge and considers this when suggesting recipes.

"Intelligenter Fahrradhelm" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - The bike helmet automatically alerts the ambulance after a crash and sends the coordinates of the location to pre-defined persons. The integrated sensor allows the emergency doctor to read medical data of the injured person.

"Eisenspäne und Chips in Plastiktüten" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - Iron fillings and semiconductor chips are built into plastic bottles and plastic bags. When they get into the sea they can easily be collected by boats with integrated magnets.

The Winners 2019

The transmittals were evaluated by a jury of experienced Infineon employees and two associate university professors on the basis of criteria such as sustainability, quality of life, creativity and innovation, accuracy of the presentation, comprehensibility, elaboration and overall impression.

1. Place: "SafetyBus" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - A system which releases the windows in case of a bus accident. Occupants can leave the bus faster and rescuers have an easier access to people in need of help inside the bus.

2. Place: "Holo-Watch" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - A smartwatch with special foil on the display that inflates when somebody receives a holo-call. The face of the caller will then be displayed as a hologram between the display and the foil.

3. Place: "Tiefseeforscherfisch" (Goehte-Gymnasium Regensburg) - A device with camera and GPS to explore the deep-sea. In addition, the device is equipped with a storage space so it can collect (plastic) waste in the sea while exploring.

The Winners 2018

The transmittals were evaluated by a jury of experienced Infineon employees and two associate university professors on the basis of criteria such as sustainability, quality of life, creativity and innovation, accuracy of the presentation, comprehensibility, elaboration and overall impression.

1. Place: "Doim Sublime" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - Functional nest for insects which regulates temperature and humidity on its own.

2. Place: "Induktives Laden eines Handys" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) – Home-made induction generator that can charge a mobile phone by movement. The generator is secured to the arm of a person. Voltage is induced and electricity is generated when the person is moving.

3. Place: "Smarter Schrank" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - A smart cupboard which shows the expiry date of food via a display. In addition the shelfs in the cupboard have different sizes based on the food pyramid.

3. Place: "Schultaschentragehilfe" (Goethe-Gymnasium Regensburg) – A device which simplifies the carriage of heavy schoolbags.

The Winners 2017

The transmittals were evaluated by a jury of experienced Infineon employees, two associate university professors and a vocational trainer of Siemens on the basis of criteria such as sustainability, quality of life, creativity and innovation, accuracy of the presentation, comprehensibility, elaboration and overall impression.

1. Place: "ACC-Helm" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - Measurement of the load on the cervical spine in different sports with the aim of warning the athlete when critical acceleration values occur.

2. Place: "Morning Bot!" (Jakob-Fugger Gymnasium Augsburg) – The Morning Bot is designed to help students get up in the morning. Among other things, the student is greeted and gets to know the day of the week, time and temperature. To terminate the alarm signal, an addition task must be correctly answered.

3. Place: "LRM – Lerning-Rewards Machine" (Lukas Gymnasium Munich) – The motivation of younger pupils to learn should be increased by a reward principle. A machine displays tasks of any kind and rewards the correct answer by issuing a small token of appreciation.

Special creativity awards "Superdive" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - diving suit for infinite diving by filtering the oxygen out of the water and "Waschmaschine Plus" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf)- washing machine with robot, with the help of which the laundry is sortet, washed, dried, ironed, folded and packed in baskets.

The Winners 2016

The transmittals were evaluated by a jury of experienced Infineon employees, two associate university professors and a vocational trainer of Siemens on the basis of criteria such as sustainability, quality of life, creativity and innovation, accuracy of the presentation, comprehensibility, elaboration and overall impression.

1. Place: Team "StoveWatchDog" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - An early warning system based on temperature sensors which helps to prevent kitchen fire.

2. Place: Team "Bike Light - Bis zum Morgengrauen" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - A clever idea, which makes it possible to use smartphones as bicycle lamps.

2. Place: Team "Stand-Bye!" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - A programme, which reduces the power consumption of computers by improving the standby-modus.

3. Place: Team "Gesundheitscomputer" (Staatliche Realschule Regenstauf) - An application with tips and tricks for a healthy and conscious way of life as well as an integrated blood pressure monitor and an automatic emergency call.

3. Place: Team "Enjoy Eat" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - A wristband which makes the daily life of people with food incompatibilities or on special diets easier.

Special Price Creativity: Team "Gefühlsgesteuerter Kleiderschrank" (Goethe Gymnasium Regensburg) - A wardrobe which measures the emotional state of the user and respectively chooses the appropriate outfit.

The Winners 2015

1. Place: Team "E-Letter Box" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - Idea of an intelligent letterbox, in which an LED light turns once a letter is posted in the box.

2. Place: Team "No more ill" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) -Body sensors should help to supervise ones health.

2. Place: Team "Pilly Milly" (Lise-Meitner Gymnasium Unterhaching) - A roboter should support elder people in daily life.

3. Place: Team "Hypereat5000" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) -Invention of a machine, which cooks on its own, provides recipes and orders the ingredients online.

Special Price Creativity "Nagilator" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf) - Nail polish machine

Special Price "Facilitation for pupils": Team "The Brain" (Realschule Regenstauf) - When leaving the house, the schoolbags will be scanned and the pupils will get a warning if they have forgotten important school books.

The Winners 2014

The first price at site Munich was handed over to the team "CarTrain". A concept for saving energy as well as reducing jam risks by building a convoy of vehicles.

1. Place: Team "Mirror Mirror" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf). Development of a solution for outfit consulting and finding the outfits in the wardrobe (Video)

2. Place: Team "Save your Back" (Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium, Regensburg). Concept to relief the backs of the student by saving book content and tasks on chip cards.

3. Place: Team "Easy Household" (Gymnasium Lappersdorf). Development of a solution for making life around house holding easier for example with automatical door openers, fridge filling as well as oven control. (Flyer)

The Winners 2012

The decision was very hard for the Jury, and so they decided to choose two third places.
