As a Unit Process Development Engineer CVD (f/m) you will be responsible for the development of dielectric films (Oxide, Nitride, Carbon…) by PECVD-, HDP-, SACVD- and ALD- Processes. This includes the evaluation of new deposition methods and processes; starting with feasibility studies, predevelopment until process qualification and transfer of a new process to production.

Job description

In your new role, your main topics will be:
  • Identification of CVD-process requirements in discussion with technology development.
  • Equipment selection and process development.
  • Selection and ordering of materials for new development projects in alignment with roadmap and in close cooperation with production and purchasing.
  • Process characterization and definition of methods for process control.
  • Ensure IFX wide harmonization and standardization of all CVD related processes.
  • Well prepared transfer of new processes to UPS in production.
  • Update of master data information, support of change management, support of cost reduction projects and engineering support of production.
  • Support and cooperation with all frontend, preassembly and backend sites (e.g.Villach, Dresden Malakka, Batam, Singapore, Wuxi, Kulim). On site visits at the sites on demand.
You will cooperate with technology development and program managers regarding execution of development projects and with tool maintenance in production. You will also have interaction with UPD of other processes in order to identify the optimized solution.


As a team player, you communicate openly, clearly, and coherently and are able to quickly establish successful cooperation. You are a proactive, self-driven character, striving to make things better, faster, and more efficient. You enjoy working in a very complex, demanding field of work, are flexible and work well under stress.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • University degree in Physics, Chemistry or Microsystems Technology, preferably with main focus on Semiconductor Physics.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the semiconductor field.
  • Knowledge in semiconductor device physics, thin film technology, Dielectrica and CVD/PVD-methods.
  • Very good MS Office skills.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
