PMSM AC input above 200V
Find our reference designs and recommended products for your AC input synchronous motor control design
High-performance motors are dependent on smooth rotation via the full speed range of the motor, full torque control and fast increase / slow down of the speed.
The objectives of our proposed design solution for motor control drive systems are regulation, stability, robustness to the load disturbance variation and energy reduction with a specific focus on battery-powered applications. Synchronous motors with AC input are typically used in industrial drives applications, industrial robots, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) application as well as in commercial vehicles like forklifts.

The three power integrated modules are mainly targeted for motor drives. Those products are specially optimized for industrial drives applications, which means much lower static losses, higher power density, and softer switching. Additionally, by raising the allowed maximum operating temperature up to 175 °C in the power module, an increase of the output current of up to 40 % can be obtained. Find out more:
The IGBT7 is with stronger termination and optimized field design to let it pass 175°C qualification. While the operation at 175°C is only allowed during overload conditions. This definition fits for the drive application condition and lifetime requirement.
