Over the years, Infineon has won many awards from a wide range of environmental organizations, customers and other initiatives for its work in the area of CSR. Infineon is extremely proud of the awards it has been honored with.
Infineon entered the "Silver Class" in the Sustainability Yearbook 2017
Infineon has made the Sustainability Yearbook for the seventh year in a row. For the first time we were even listed in the "Silver Class". This shows that it is not only our innovative products that make an important contribution to facing global societal challenges such as climate protection, energy efficiency and resource management. It also recognizes the fact that we concentrate on ecologically and economically sustainable action when manufacturing our products.
The Sustainability Yearbook lists the best corporate sustainability performance by industry sector. 2473 companies from 60 sectors were assessed. Ten companies from the semiconductor industry were listed in the Yearbook. Two out of the ten companies entered the "Gold Class" and two, including Infineon, entered the "Silver Class". The remaining companies were listed as "Bronze Class", as "Industry Mover" or simply as members, depending on their scores. This classification shows once again that Infineon is one of the most sustainable companies worldwide.
Euronext Vigeo index
In December 2016, Infineon Technologies was again listed in the Euronext Vigeo index: Eurozone 120. This index distinguishes companies achieving the most advanced Environmental, Social and Governance performances.
Infineon has been selected for the Ethibel Sustainability Index Excellence Europe
Infineon Technologies has been reconfirmed as a constituent of the Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Europe since 20/03/2017.
We are the only European semiconductor manufacturer listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
Infineon Technologies AG is for the eight consecutive year a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Infineon is the only semiconductor company listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World which is also listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe. Thus Infineon is among the ten percent most sustainable semiconductor companies worldwide. The award is a proof that our products and technologies address the challenges of the future and that future-orientation and sustainable performance are untouchable principles for our Company.
oekom research awards "Prime" status to Infineon
The rating agency oekom research AG assesses the sustainability performance of companies. More than 100 criteria are taken into account for the evaluation. In the 2013 ranking Infineon was classified as "Prime" company, which serves as an indicator for our efforts in assuming responsibility in the economic, social and environmental sphere. This rating - after the repeated listing in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index - emphasizes again our successful efforts in this area.
FTSE4Good Index Series
The FTSE4Good Index Series assesses performance of companies with internationally recognized CSR standards that require to meet stringent environmental, social and governance criteria. Infineon was again included in the FTSE4Good Index Series in 2017. Infineon has earned this recognition thanks to an ongoing learning and improvement process. Helping to shape global developments on a pro-active basis, good cooperation with the community and taking voluntary responsibility for people and the environment are the underlying tenets of our integrated approach. This approach is alive at Infineon – both in our strategic concepts and in our day-to-day activities.
Singapore Sustainability Award
Infineon was granted with the “Singapore Sustainability Award 2014” in the category for large enterprises. This is an initiative promoted by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) which showcases the most innovative and impactful sustainable practices and green solutions among organizations in Singapore. The Award recognizes Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific as a regional leader in sustainability excellence for its outstanding sustainable business practices and innovative GreenTech solutions.
TRIGOS Carinthia Award
Infineon Austria won the “TRIGOS Carinthia Award” for the fourth year in succession during the year under report. This annual award for CSR activities has been presented for the last eight years in Austria by a group of organizations, including the Red Cross, SOS Kinderdörfer, the Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Austrian Industry, who awards prizes to companies in Austria showing particular social responsibility. Infineon Austria was awarded the prize in the “Ecology” category for sustainability achievements in the field of electro-mobility and for activities related to the generation of local heating supply from biomass.
Regensburg Environmental Protection Award
Infineon Regensburg has been conferred with the city's "Umweltpreis" environmental protection award, which underlines the exemplary development and orientation of our company. This is the twelfth time since 1994 that we have received confirmation of our extraordinary performance in the area of environmental protection. Our Regensburg site was the first in the region to use the biodiversity check to evaluate its impact on the ecosystems of the immediate vicinity. Further on, Regensburg site is implementing a new Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant which will generate both heat and electricity and will allow savings in CO2 emissions by more than 3,500 tons annually, equivalent to the annual CO2 footprint of more than 300 households in Regensburg.
On December 2014, Infineon Technologies Kulim was announced and awarded as a winner of the “National Excellence Award Occupational Safety and Health 2014”.The comes directly from the Government, Malaysia National Safety Council. The program is assisted by the Authority, Department of Occupational Safety & Health of Malaysia. The auditors recognized Infineon Kulim comprehensive Safety Management . They also assessed and evaluated special control and protection measures for eliminating and reducing risks at the workplace.
