Infineon Technologies North America Appoints Semiconductor Veteran Gerry Duggan to CEO and President

San Jose, California, August 7, 2006 -- Infineon Technologies (FSE/NYSE: IFX) today announced the appointment of Gerry Duggan as CEO and President of Infineon Tech-nologies North America Corp. Mr. Duggan will be responsible for the business activities at headquarters in North America. He will report directly to Infineon’s North American Board of Directors, chaired by Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart, CEO and President of Infineon Technologies AG.

Mr. Duggan will become CEO and President of Infineon North America effective on September 25, 2006.

“Gerry brings a wealth of industry experience to Infineon with a strong focus on markets and customers,” said Ziebart. “I am confident that his strong semiconductor network will help strengthen Infineon’s presence in the North American market – and to continue driving satisfaction with our existing and new customers.”

Mr. Duggan comes to Infineon from Future Electronics where he was President and Chief Operating Officer until earlier this year. He spent over 20 years at Future where he held several executive leadership positions including Executive Vice President of World-wide Product Marketing, Executive Vice President of North America Sales and Vice President of Sales. Prior to joining Future, Mr. Duggan held a number of management positions in the Canadian communications RF industry.
